The Icefjord Midnight Marathon takes place in Ilulissat, Greenland, where the UNESCO-accredited Ilulissat Icefjord provides a spectacular backdrop to this unique race. Runners will enjoy the magic of the midnight sun as they race over rocks and roads, against the colorful backdrop of Ilulissat and the Icefjord's towering icebergs. 



The itinerary is detailed below. This is what you'll be doing during your stay!

28 May 2022Race Night

This is the day we've been waiting for! The marathon is run at night, so you have the day to do as you please.  

From 17:30 local participants can pick up their race packets at Hotel Hvide Falk, which will include their timing chip, race bib, t-shirt, and course information. 

The marathon begins at 21:00, and the half-marathon will begin at 22:30 - all races will be done by 4:00 at the latest.

Registration Requirements

To sign up for race-only entry, you must reside in Greenland. Upon booking, we will request copies of your government-issued documents (either driver's license, residence permit, or employer certificate) to verify this. 

This local entry price does not include accommodation, transportation, or excursions. Of course, if you reside elsewhere in Greenland and you would like to join an extended holiday in Ilulissat, you are welcome to sign up for one of the standard 5- or 6-day packages.
