Experience a thrilling night on the Greenlandic ice-cap!

Legendary explorers have crossed the Greenlandic Ice Sheet, and now you can follow in their footsteps.

Start your Icefjord Midnight Marathon in the most epic way, and spend a night on the Greenlandic ice sheet. Hike its breathtaking icy desert with an experienced glacier guide and experience views seen by few.

One night will also be spent in the settlement of Kangerlussuaq, where you get an opportunity to explore this small town, and taste mouthwatering local cuisine.

A domestic flight will take you to Ilulissat after your journey where your Greenlandic adventure continues!

Itinerary

26 MayLet the adventure begins!

Today, along with other participants, you will be boarding a 4.5-hour flight to Kangerlussuaq from Copenhagen.

Once landed, our guides are on standby with a smile to welcome you onto this adventure.

Lunch will be provided upon arrival, while our expedition guide will give an important briefing on safety and the upcoming activities. Please bring a backpack for the items you will need while at the ice camp. The rest of your luggage will be kept in a storage room at the Polar Lodge and will be waiting for you upon your return.

Next up is the ice camp! With all-terrain vehicles, we will drive apx. an hour toward our destination of Point 660, where we will gear up and start our exploration.

After reaching our destination, our priority will be to set up camp in the same way one would when crossing the full ice sheet from West to East. Followed by a breathtaking hike in the afternoon.

After a long day, we will come together for a wholesome and cozy dinner experience in the true adventure nature with freeze-dried food that is generally carried on such an expedition.

Important:

As a participant, we expect you to be willing and able to pull a sled with your own equipment from the ice edge to the camp. This effort is considered to be a moderate to easy task to perform.
Follow your guide's orders to the fullest, and don't wander out on the ice on your own, as it can be very dangerous. The guide will keep you away from danger and plot a route across a secure terrain.
Crampons and trekking poles will provide each guest with extra stability.

27 MayRussel Glacier

Following a night spent snuggled in our warm sleeping bags, we will head out on another hike on the Ice Cap.

As our adventure concludes, we will pack up our camp, making sure only our footprints are left behind.

We will drive towards Kangerlussuaq, with a BBQ lunch stop on the way close to the magnificent Russel Glacier. Upon arrival, we will settle in at the Polar Lodge and prepare for our festive dinner at Roklubben.
